Pricing. Servoke: $4.99 a server a month. $3.99 each from 100 servers. A quote from 500 servers. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: RunCloud from $9, Forge from $12 and Ploi from 8 EUR ($10) a month. Ploi also has a free plan for one server and one site.
Accounts per licence. Servoke: Unlimited on every server. No fee per account, ever. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: Servers and sites, not hosting accounts for customers.
Licence. Servoke: Commercial licence per server, checked on the server from a signed document. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: A subscription. The control plane runs on the vendor's servers.
Websites, PHP and certificates. Servoke: nginx with PHP-FPM, Apache and OpenLiteSpeed engines, certificates issued and renewed for you. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: nginx with PHP-FPM, free certificates and Git deploys on all three. RunCloud also offers OpenLiteSpeed.
Email hosting. Servoke: Postfix, Dovecot and Rspamd, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC written for you, and webmail. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: Not included. Use a separate mail provider.
DNS hosting. Servoke: PowerDNS zones created with each domain. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: Not hosted. RunCloud and Ploi edit records at providers such as Cloudflare.
Databases. Servoke: MariaDB and PostgreSQL. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: MySQL or MariaDB on all three, and PostgreSQL on Forge and Ploi.
Resellers. Servoke: Reseller accounts with their own packages and limits. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: Only Ploi, through its free Ploi Core panel on the Unlimited plan. RunCloud and Forge offer team access, not customer accounts.
Per-account resource limits. Servoke: CPU, memory and IO limits per account on cgroup v2, with no add-on. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: No per-site CPU or memory limits listed. Sites can run as separate system users.
Firewall and brute force guard. Servoke: Firewall, brute force guard, web application firewall and a security advisor. Every change in the audit log. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: Each manages a firewall. RunCloud turns Fail2ban on by default, Ploi installs it switched off, and Forge's docs do not list it.
AI that reads the server. Servoke: Michael reads the real server and proposes each step for you to approve. Paid with JagAI credits. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: RunCloud has optional read-only AI monitoring and Ploi an MCP connection from its Pro plan. Forge lists neither.
API, CLI and MCP. Servoke: Every console action is an /api/v1 call in OpenAPI. The CLI mirrors it, and an MCP server is built in. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: All three have an API, on RunCloud's Business plan and Ploi's paid plans. Forge and Ploi also have a CLI.
Updates. Servoke: Checks hourly, verifies the signature, saves its state and puts the last build back if a new one is unhealthy. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: The vendors update the hosted control plane. Forge and Ploi also turn on automatic OS security updates.
Moving from cPanel. Servoke: Installs beside cPanel and imports its accounts. Take over stops cPanel and WHM in one click while every site, mailbox and zone keeps running, and Bring cPanel back is one click. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: No cPanel importer. RunCloud's team moves a first web app for free, then from $350 a site.
Core runtime. Servoke: One Rust daemon with the consoles built in. Privileged changes are typed operations, never shell strings. RunCloud, Forge and Ploi: A hosted control plane that manages your server remotely. RunCloud installs an agent on it.

When RunCloud, Forge and Ploi is the better fit

If you deploy your own apps to a few servers and never host mail or customer accounts, a hosted server manager is a light fit.

Install Servoke on a fresh server: Keep the old server running while you move.
Move sites and databases: Copy files with SFTP or Git and load databases with the database tools.
